Was just listening to a radio report about the people of Lebanon being killed and hurt by Israelee bombs. Of course the rockets fired by Hezbolah into Israel mean nothing. Leaders of both sides are not the ones getting killed. NO. Its the little guy who just wants to earn a living in peace. May all those leaders in the world who espouse war, for whatever reason, burn in hell.

Since I've decided to confine my observations to the loss of freedoms in the USA there has been nothing that has stood out to warrant a comment. Then in today's WP, Sen. Edward Kennedy brought the sham of Roberts and Alito in their confirmation hearings. Two more nails in the freedom coffin. Control, control, contro. is the mantra of this Republican administration.
Religion(i.e. pseudo religion) and patriotism are the buzzwords of this administrations march to control the hearts, minds and bodies of the American people. WAKE up people before this mind control expands to total body and soul control and the loss of our freedoms.

Wrestling with Truth: The death of my optimism for the Middle East, Part One

Since I've stirred up the pot in comments on other blogs, I might as well post a few comments on my own.

I still find it amazing that after some some 60+ years on this planet, I fail to understand how blowing up other peoples stuff is a solution to one's problems. If mankind would expend the same amount of brain power and energy in meaningfull dialog with other people, we would not need(poor choice of a word) to destroy their lives and stuff. All this Middle East, Kashmir, Iraq etc. etc. goings on seem to be garnered from pre-school antics of four year olds. Maturity and understanding has not taken hold. The world's conflicts stem in large part from the bully antics that we see in elementary school and never gets solved on a personal level. I suppose the question is WHY. Why is violence the method and the answer? Violence seems to be the method, but it is not the answer to anything.

Phages. Huh?

Sunday, July 02, 2006

Better said than I ever could.

Let us not forget this attack on one of our basic freedoms this Independence Day.

The war, the economy, illegal immigration, Social Security reform, the deficit etc. are all worthy causes, problems, issues. But, in my mind, the attacks on the free press are the most chilling of all. There have been attacks on the press in the past, but the attacks of the past week or so are the most frightning. Congress raising the prospect of shutting out the NYTimes from reporting at the White House is just the tip of the totalitarian iceberg. Our so-called representatives are not what they say they are, but just a bunch of people who are intent on their egoistic lifestyles.

We, as true patriotic Americans need to take back our country from those who would deny our free speech rights. Washington is corrupt and self serving. Vote the bums out. VOTE VOTE VOTE.

Must read.

Freedom of the press is a must in a free society. Without it, freedom doesn't exist.
