James Carroll has hit the nail on the head with today's article in the Boston Globe.
Seems to me, that if mainstream churches are to survive and become relevant, they must evolve. The retrenching of the Catholic Church is just alienating a large group of it's members. With Vatican II there was a ray of hope and joy that subsequent leaders have tried to roll back. The latest pope is now talking about some of the 50's "isms". Give me a break. Let the Church grow , not shrink into irrelevancy.

That is what has turned me off. I go straight to the Father. "Religion" just seems to cause war.

I read this again. I can't stand this Pope, so backward thinking. Look at what MLK did. We need more like him.
