Why aren't Americans spittin mad at W considering the tremendous waste of money and lives in this nonsensical war in Iraq? Why is Congress still funding this boondogle? Why do many Americans still believe that the war is necessary? You tell me.

I contend that "profit" is the motive for continuing this macabre farce. We are spending tons of money to no avail. As the NY Times points out.
Who in Congress and the administration is reaping the profits. Don't we as tax-paying citizens want to know?

Its a sad commentary on our society that we can't help our own citizens but we can kill people in the name of profit.

HAH! The only thing that is unacceptable is W's intransigence.

The Foley affair is interesting in that it demonstrates the prevailing ethic in this country. One of course has to BLAME something or someone else for one's failings. Foley's lawyer stating that his client had been abused as a child. So what does that have to do with the question at hand. Seems to me that had he been abused, he would abhor that kind of thing. Or, maybe, I don't understand the psychology of the whole thing.
Another interesting point is the alcoholism thing. How convenient. Sequester oneself so as to save oneself from the probing questions and accusations. Foley is a very personable man who likes the limelight. But now, hiding is the way to go. Seems we are getting lots of our elected officials who are not quite up to our idea of ethics and morality. Haven't heard much from the moral majority or the christian right on the Foley thing. Why not?
Seems we need to clean out the legislature in the upcoming election. And, hopefully, the newcomers will realize that the electorate will not stand for all the bull...t that politicians have been handing out along with their less than moral stature.
